Sessions overview:

Dr. Andrea Thyrring of MSU Denver - This informative workshop will be on topics including Understanding Trauma, How to have Trauma Informed Programming, and Strategies for Working with Children Experiencing Trauma. This session will help you on your way to becoming a trauma informed programmer and provider.

Stephanie Lauchmen + Special Olympic Athlete - Unified Leadership is a training offered by Special Olympics Colorado, delivered by a staff member and an athlete to focus on the untapped potential of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). So often the IDD community is left out of the DEI conversation and Special Olympics Colorado is committed to creating a more inclusive world where this community is not left out or behind. Through this 1-hour training the audience will gain confidence in interacting with the IDD community through knowledge such as suggestions for advocacy, and small reasonable steps towards being more inclusive in the day-to-day.
