The Playground Maintenance Course is a one-day (6.25 hour) educational course through the National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA) that provides participants with an understanding of basic playground hazards, applying safe maintenance practices on equipment, identifying surfacing types and proper maintenance procedures, and establishing proper record keeping practices.
Participants receive a certificate upon completion of the Playground Maintenance Course and 0.6 CEUs (continuing education units) which qualify towards CPSI certification renewals. The CEUs breakdown for this course is 0.2 CEUs for Group A (Hazard ID, Risk Management) and 0.4 CEUs for Group B (Surfacing, Playground Environment, Audit, Inspection & Maintenance).
Registration includes course materials (given out to participants onsite), 0.6 CEUs issued through NRPA, a certification of completion from NRPA, and lunch.
Participants will visit a nearby playground as part of the course.
The maximum number of participants for this course is 30 people.

Course participants must be 18 years of age or older.
